Parenting

The idea of parenting may leave you with many questions. It might seem scary, and even impossible. Perhaps you feel that you will not have support from the father or your family. Regardless of the situation, you are not alone. You can still realize your dreams for your education and a great career, and make positive choices. There are people who want to help you. You may see this unplanned pregnancy as a major roadblock in your life. Thankfully, there are other routes that can get you on track.

The Women First Pregnancy Center offers parenting support classes, peer counseling, prenatal classes and material support. We can talk with you about any issues and help you decide if parenting is the right thing for you.

Abortion

Scared. Pressured. Trapped. If a baby is not in your plans right now, it’s possible you’re feeling at least one of these emotions—and abortion might seem like the best way out. Your feelings are valid; this is a big decision. It may seem like abortion will wipe away this situation and you can just move on. It’s not that simple. Abortion is not just a simple medical procedure. For many women, it is a life changing event with significant physical and emotional consequences. Most women who struggle with past abortions say that they wish they had been told all of the facts about abortion and its risks.

We offer free pregnancy support and peer counseling services. We will provide you with the facts about abortion so that you can make an informed decision. There are three methods for terminating a pregnancy: two types of surgery and the abortion pill. While we do not perform or refer for abortions, our staff can provide detailed information about each and what you should do when you do not want to keep your baby. We also refer for post-abortion counseling and support services.
